Schedule For Online Counseling (Allotment Process) For NEET 50% AIQ/Deemed/Central Universities/AFMS (MDS) Seats – 2021 has been released by Medical Counselling Commitee.

NEET MDS 2021 was conducted on December 16, 2020. The result was declared on December 31, 2020.

Counselling for NEET MDS 2021 will tentatively start from the 2nd week of March.

The counselling will be conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), official website of MCC -


NEET MDS counselling 2021 will be conducted for admission to MDS courses offered by Central Universities, Armed Forces Medical Services, Deemed Universities, ESIC colleges and 50 percent All India Quota seats of the dental colleges in India. 

The merit position for All India 50% quota seats shall be declared separately. The final merit list/category wise merit list for State quota seats shall be generated by the States/UT. 

Centralized counselling will be done by the concerned states for allotment of MDS seats as per their qualifying/eligibility criteria, applicable guidelines/Regulations & reservation policy, benefits for In-service candidates, Rural Service.

NEET MDS 2021 counselling for the AIQ seats is expected to be conducted in two rounds and will be followed by an open round. The seats left vacant even after the open round will be transferred to the state quota.

NEET MDS 2021 Counselling: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have qualified the NEET MDS 2021 will be eligible to attend the counselling. To qualify the examination, a candidate needs to score more than or equal to the NEET MDS cutoff score set by the DCI. 

Cutoff Score for NEET MDS 2021: 

UR / EWS (50th Percentile): 259 
OBC/SC/ST (40th Percentile): 227 
UR-PWD (45th Percentile): 243 

NEET MDS Counselling 2021 will be held for admissions of the following: 

All India 50% Quota Seats – Counselling for All India reserved category candidates will be conducted by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of Directorate General of Health Services, Government of India, which is solely based on the NEET MDS Result. 

State Quota Seats – Reservation of NEET MDS seats in states of India will be taken care by designated Counselling authority of the respective States/Union Territories. They will be responsible for conducting counselling sessions for under State Quota based on results of NEET MDS. The counselling committee will consider eligibility criteria, applicable regulations, guidelines and applicable reservation policies while allocating seats under this category. 

Admission to Private Dental Colleges, Institutes, Universities, Deemed Universities – Seats for NEET MDS Result will be allotted to candidates under this category via counselling sessions conducted by the designated counselling authority of these Private Colleges/Institutes/Universities/ Deemed Universities on the basis of NEET MDS scores. Applicable Regulations, eligibility criteria, reservation policy, etc. will also be adhered to while allotting seats. 

Admission to Armed Forces Medical Service Institutions – Counselling for admissions to Armed Forces Medical Service Institution is conducted by The Army Dental Corps, Ministry of Defense, Government of India based on NEET MDS Result. 

NEET MDS Counselling 2021 Steps: 

Step 1: Registration 
Register on the MCC website. 
Enter your basic details like: Registration Number, Name, Date of Birth, Gender, etc. 

Step 2: Filling the Counselling Form 
Login in using the credentials to select the college of your choice from the list of available choices and lock your selection. The designated authority will review the applications and allot the seats based on the merit list. Once the seat is allotted, candidates will have to attend NEET MDS Counselling for document verification. 

Step 3: Payment of Fees 
Candidates can pay the admission fees (non-refundable) and block the seat allotted to them.  

Step 4:  Seat allotment list
MCC then releases the result of NEET MDS counselling 2021 in the form of a seat allotment list. Candidates who are allocated a seat in the list have to report to the allocated institute for document verification and confirmation of the seat. 



NEET MDS Counselling 2021 Important Dates (Tentative): 
First round : 20th August 2021 to 24th August, 2021
Second round : 06th September 2021 to 09th September, 2021

Transfer of Seats to State Quota: 24th September 2021 to 27th September, 2021
Transfer of Seats to Deemed/Central Universities: 06th October , 2021
Stray Vacancy Round by Deemed/Central Universities: 06th October to 10th October, 2021

Documents you should carry to the NEET MDS counselling 2021: 

A candidate who is allocated a seat through the NEET MDS 2021 counselling needs to report to the allocated institute for verification of the documents. For confirmation of the seat allocated, he/she needs to carry the following documents:

  • NEET MDS Admit Card 
  • NEET MDS 2021 Score Card 
  • BDS Degree certificate 
  • BDS Marksheets 
  • Internship Completion Certificate (stating that the candidate has completed his/ her internship on or before March 31, 2021) 
  • Registration Certificate from the Dental Council of India (DCI) or State Dental Council (SDC) 
  • Birth Certificate or class 10 marksheet 
  • Photo Id proof (PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Aadhaar card/ Passport) 
  • Caste Certificate (SC/ ST/ OBC – if applicable) 
  • Disability Certificate issued by the medical board (if applicable) 
NEET MDS 2021 Seat Allotment:
  • Based on NEET MDS result the merit list is prepared. 
  • Candidates fill preferences based on seats available. 
  • NEET MDS Seat Allotment result is published in the form of a list including the name, allotted college, All India Rank, Remarks, and candidate category. 
  • Selected students will be required to download the allotment letter of NEET MDS 2021.  
  • It is mandatory to carry the allotment letter along with the list of documents at the allotted institute to complete the admission process.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): 

What will be the venue for NEET MDS 2021 counselling? 
NEET MDS 2021 Counselling will be conducted online. Candidates who want to participate in the counselling of NEET MDS 2021 will have to register on the official website of MCC to attend it. 

How many choices can I fill during the counselling? 
There is no limit on the number of choices that a candidate can fill during the counselling of NEET MDS 2021. These choices, however, should be in the order of preference as desired by the candidate. 

I forgot to lock my choices for the counselling. Will I get a seat? 
If you have filled in the choices and saved them, they will be considered during the seat allotment process. However, if you haven’t filled in the choices, you will have to wait till the next round of NEET MDS counselling 2021. 

What are the various fees that need to be paid during the online registration? 
At the time of registration for NEET MDS counselling, a candidate needs to pay two kinds of fee:
Non-refundable: A candidate who wishes to participate for the counselling of NEET MDS 2021 has to pay a non-refundable registration fee for the submission of choices 
Refundable: During the registration process a candidate is also required to pay a part of the tuition fee. This will be refunded to the candidate if he/ she is not allocated a seat in the counselling process. 

What documents are required at the time of online registration and choice filling? 
Candidates filling the registration form of NEET MDS 2021 counselling are required to keep their application form and admit card handy. These details will have to be filled in the registration form as well.
